Kansas State Sweeps No. 20 Colorado in Statement Victory


Kansas State entered Saturday’s matchup ready for Colorado’s disciplined, high-pressure

defense, and the Wildcats executed their game plan to near perfection. In front of a loud home

crowd at Morgan Family Arena, K-State swept the No. 20 Buffaloes, 3–0, with set scores of

25–20, 26–24 and 25–18.


The Wildcats’ offense was led by standout performances from Aniya Clinton, who recorded 17

kills, and Shaylee Myers, who contributed 11. Setter Ava LeGrand orchestrated the attack with

control and confidence, finishing with 29 assists, 9 digs, 4 blocks, and 2 aces, delivering impact

plays in every phase of the game.


Set One


K-State established momentum early, taking a 15–12 lead midway through the first set. The

Wildcats held off Colorado’s attempts to rally late, closing the frame with two decisive kills from

Clinton and an ace from LeGrand to seal the 25–20 win.


Set Two

The Wildcats jumped ahead quickly at 7–2, but Colorado fought back to take a late 20–18 lead.

K-State responded with poise, tying the set at 23–23 and edging ahead for a 26–24 finish.

Clinton was dominant in this stretch, registering 7 kills in the second set alone.


Set Three


K-State continued to apply pressure, opening the third set with a 10–5 advantage and never

looking back. The Wildcats closed on a commanding 6–1 scoring run to secure the sweep,

taking the final frame 25–18. Colorado struggled offensively, hitting just .029 in the final set.

Colorado entered the match ranked No. 20 with a strong 20–5 record, making this victory a
