MANHATTAN, Kan. — Kansas State’s men’s basketball team delivered a commanding performance on Wednesday night, overwhelming Oklahoma State 85-57 at Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats capitalized on a fast start and relentless defense to secure their second consecutive victory in Big 12 play.

Junior Brendan Hausen led the Wildcats with 18 points, shooting a perfect 5-of-5 from three-point range. K-State (9-11, 3-6 Big 12) showcased its best offensive performance of the conference season, shooting 52.6% from the field and 52.2% from beyond the arc. The Wildcats also forced a season-high 21 turnovers, converting them into 28 points.

“We wanted to come out aggressive and set the tone early,” said head coach Jerome Tang during the post-game press conference. “Our energy on both ends of the floor was outstanding.”

The Wildcats raced to a 15-4 lead in the opening minutes and never looked back. By halftime, K-State had built a commanding 45-23 advantage, fueled by strong performances from Max Jones and Dug McDaniel, who combined for 21 first-half points. The Wildcats scored 22 points off turnovers in the first half alone.

Oklahoma State (10-10, 2-7 Big 12) struggled to find rhythm against K-State’s stifling defense. The Cowboys shot just 39.6% from the field and committed costly mistakes throughout the game.

In the second half, K-State extended its lead to as many as 32 points with a 12-0 run less than five minutes in. Hausen continued his hot shooting, scoring 11 of his game-high 18 points after halftime. Coleman Hawkins added eight points, four rebounds, and three assists in a well-rounded effort.

The victory marked K-State’s largest margin of victory in Big 12 play under Coach Tang and avenged an earlier loss to Oklahoma State this season. It also improved the Wildcats’ all-time record at Bramlage Coliseum to an impressive 438-151.

“This win gives us momentum,” said Hausen. “We’re starting to play our best basketball at the right time.”

K-State will look to keep its winning streak alive as it prepares for two pivotal matchups against Iowa State in Ames and KU at home.
