Royal Purple Yearbook: Preserving the Past and Connecting the Future

As the official yearbook at Kansas State University, Royal Purple embodies the history and tradition that K-State is built on. The Royal Purple yearbook serves as a link between present-day university life and those who walked the paths of campus decades ago. Royal Purple works to preserve the history of K-State by capturing all aspects of the university. From student life and academics, to athletics and organizations, the yearbook authentically represents what it means to be a Wildcat.

The cherished keepsake of memories is run by the students of K-State. As part of the Collegian Media Group, Royal Purple has a staff of writers, designers and photographers who work from August to March to build the pages between the binds.

Royal Purple Editor-in-Chief Kendra Kemp, a junior in news and sports media, leads her diverse staff in full force and unites them under one goal.

“We have a great variety of different majors who are involved in all sorts of areas across campus that really make our content strong,” said Kemp.

The staff atmosphere is welcoming, collaborative and creative. Isabelle Mullinax, junior in visual communication and design, said, “I like the idea of [Royal Purple] being more collaborative as we’re working towards a final goal.”

Chosen by Kemp, the 2026 Royal Purple yearbook theme is “Homage.”

“I really wanted to pay homage to the previous years and capture what hadn’t been seen in the past few yearbooks,” Kemp said. “There’s a lot of rich history at K-State that came before us and still ties in today.”

Preserving the memories, Homage tells the stories of current K-State students and bridges the connection between proud alumni and future Wildcats. All Wildcats can order their 2026 Royal Purple yearbook to encapsulate the true spirit of what it means to be a K-Stater at royalpurpleyearbook.com
