K-State fans have plenty to cheer about as four Wildcats were selected in the 2025 NFL Draft, each bringing their own unique skill set and grit to the next level.

Let’s break down what each player accomplished in Manhattan and what they bring to their new NFL teams.

Jacob Parrish - Cornerback, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3rd Round, 84th Overall)

Jacob Parrish is the kind of cornerback who makes quarterbacks think twice before throwing his way. Over three seasons at Kansas State, Parrish showcased his quick feet, smooth hips, and ability to stick tight in press coverage. He combines speed and savvy, breaking up passes with timing and poise. He currently projects as a corner who can contribute immediately in sub-packages and eventually grow into a starting role.

In 2024, Parrish was a full-time starter, recording 50 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, one interception, and eight passes defended. He tied for ninth in the Big 12 in passes defended per game and had a standout performance against Cincinnati with three pass breakups. Parrish’s knack for reading routes and staying physical makes him a strong fit for Tampa Bay’s secondary.

DJ Giddens - Running Back, Indianapolis Colts (5th Round, 151st Overall)

DJ Giddens is a tough, patient runner who can grind out tough yards inside and also has the wiggle to make defenders miss. At Kansas State, he wasn't a typical power back—his long stride and sharp vision helped him find the right holes and create big plays. Giddens finished second in school history in career rushing yards per attempt (5.97) and third in total rushing yards (3,087), posting back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons.

In 2024, he rushed for over 1,300 yards and scored seven touchdowns on the ground, adding another through the air. His ability to catch passes and run routes out of the backfield makes him a versatile weapon for the Colts, who already feature Jonathan Taylor and Khalil Herbert. Giddens’ patience and vision should carve him a role as a reliable, tough inside runner in Indy’s backfield rotation.

Marques Sigle - Safety, San Francisco 49ers (5th Round, 160th Overall)

Marques Sigle is a physical, aggressive safety who isn’t afraid to mix it up near the line of scrimmage. After three seasons at North Dakota State, he transferred to Kansas State and quickly became a defensive leader. Sigle’s strength lies in run support—he’s a heavy hitter who can blow up plays in the backfield, though at times he can be a little too eager and miss tackles.

In 2024, Sigle started all 13 games, totaling 60 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions (including a pick-six), and six passes defended. He led the Wildcats in defensive snaps and ranked among the Big 12 leaders in interception return yards. San Francisco will appreciate his physicality as he competes for playing time in a defense known for its toughness.

Will Howard – Quarterback, Pittsburgh Steelers (6th Round, 185th Overall)

Will Howard’s arrival in Pittsburgh adds an intriguing dynamic to the Steelers' quarterback room, where he joins fellow former Wildcat Skylar Thompson, along with Mason Rudolph and potentially veteran Aaron Rodgers.

During his time in the Little Apple, Howard threw for nearly 5,800 yards and 48 touchdowns while rushing for over 900 yards and 19 scores. He stepped up big in 2022 to lead the Wildcats to a Big 12 Championship, showing poise and leadership under pressure. In 2023, he passed for 2,643 yards and 24 touchdowns, while adding nine rushing touchdowns.

Howard isn’t the flashiest arm in the draft, but he’s a smart, accurate passer who makes good decisions and runs the offense efficiently. The Steelers will look to develop him as a reliable backup who could grow into a potential starter down the road.

From Manhattan to the Big Stage

The 2025 NFL Draft proved once again that Kansas State is a breeding ground for football talent ready to compete on the biggest stage. Jacob Parrish, DJ Giddens, Marques Sigle, and Will Howard each bring a unique blend of skill, toughness, and football smarts that will serve them well in the pros.

As they embark on their NFL journeys, K-State fans can take pride in knowing their program continues to develop players who not only reach the next level but are poised to make an impact.
