MANHATTAN, Kan. — A family is urgently seeking information following an attack on their daughter, Kenna Hibbs, which occurred in the early hours of Friday, August 30, in the Aggieville area. Kenna is a KSU student in interior architecture and was returning home after spending the evening with friends when she was assaulted between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m.

The attack left Kenna with two lacerations on her head, requiring stitches and staples according to Roger Hibbs Facebook post. The family believes these injuries were inflicted with a blunt object, resulting in multiple skull fractures and brain bleeding. Initially treated at the Manhattan ER, Kenna was later transferred to the trauma center at Stormont Vail in Topeka for critical care.

According to a press release, the RCPD is diligently working to gather all relevant information and is reviewing surveillance footage from Aggieville and surrounding areas. They are following up on any leads to determine the cause of Kenna's injuries. The police encourage anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward and assist with the investigation.

"We want to clarify that this incident is under investigation, and we are working diligently to gather all relevant information," the RCPD stated. "We encourage anyone who may have witnessed this incident or has any information to come forward and assist with the investigation."

According to the Facebook post by Roger Hibbs; Kenna was discovered in the 800 block of Laramie, just two blocks from her home. Residents on the East side of Aggieville, particularly those with video surveillance, are encouraged to review footage from the night for any suspicious activity. The area of interest includes Moro, Laramie, Fremont, and Osage streets, spanning from 8th to 11th streets.

The Hibbs family also advises those living in or visiting the area to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings. Law enforcement has stated that they believe there is no ongoing threat to the public at this time.

"We thank everyone for their support and assistance," the family stated in the post on Facebook.
