On this week's SGA Weekly Update, host Jimmy Coffman welcomed incoming Attorney General Samantha Bonafis and Deputy Attorney General Matt Hendricks for a lively chat on the Student Governing Association's judicial branch.
In training with outgoing leaders Katie Albertson and Josh Maupin, the duo is prepping for non-academic conduct cases despite not having a case so far in 2026. They want to Build a diverse 12-member Student Review Board for better student representation, emphasize restorative justice over punishment, simplify the Student Code of Conduct for accessibility and boost transparency through education and inter-branch events.
"Community matters at K-State," Bonafis stressed. "We want students to feel represented during tough times." Applications are open until April 12th at 11:59 p.m.—find them on @sga_kstate Instagram or the SGA website's Judicial Branch page.
From small-town roots, both drew service lessons from agriculture, 4-H and community recovery efforts like tornado rebuilds, the trio touches on a little bit of everything on the SGA Weekly Update.
