Current Voices: A Celebration of Water and the Arts
Do you like water? Me too. Celebrate creativity, community, and the essential role of water at Current Voices: A Celebration of Water and the Arts on Monday, March 23 from 4–6 p.m. in the Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union. Hosted by the Kansas Water Institute in honor of World Water Day, this free, public event blends poetry, music, and visual art into a thoughtful reflection on how water shapes our lives and environment.
Guests can enjoy a welcoming reception alongside live readings and curated art displays, making it a perfect opportunity to engage with both the arts and an issue that connects us all. Stay hydrated, my friend.
Hoedown Throwdown
Get ready for a boot scootin’ good time at the Hoedown Throwdown on Friday, March 27 from 6–8 p.m. in the K-State Student Union Courtyard. Whether you’re a career line dancer or just looking for a fun night out with friends, this country-themed event promises high-energy entertainment with music, dancing, and an inflatable bull for those feeling wild.
Round up your dang ol’ posse to enjoy a night of good ol’ lively western spirit.
K-State 48-Hour Film Challenge
Alright, movie nerds, it’s your turn to be Aronofsky. K-State’s Annual 48-Hour Film Challenge kicks off on Friday, March 27, inviting students to test their creativity and endurance in an epic race against the clock. Beginning with a launch event in Hale Library where teams receive their prompts and required elements, participants will have just 48 hours to write, shoot, and edit a short film from scratch.
The challenge culminates in a Red Carpet Premiere on April 3 at 6 p.m. in the Wildcat Chamber, where all completed films will be showcased, and the winner of the cash prize will be revealed. Cut, print, check the gate.
