The KSDB Sports Staff broadcasts home and away football games, home men's and women's basketball games, and home baseball games. Also, be sure to tune in March 13-16 for live play by play coverage of the Big 12 Men's Basketball Tournament. The 91.9 Sports Staff also provides Sports Updates every weekday at 9, noon, and 3 o'clock.

Dive into the wide world of Sports with James Westling and Heath Fanning every Wednesday from 5:00-6:30.  Sports Talk, the longest consecutively running talk show on the Wildcat 91.9 provides in-depth coverage of Kansas State athletics, including recent play by play highlights, player/analyst interviews, and the always enthusiastic opinions of James and Heath.  Sports Talk guests have included Gopowercat.com’s Tim Fitzgerald, kicker Brooks Rossman, former point guard Schyler Thomas, and former tight end Donald Raymer. 

Sports Director James Westling has been a member of the KSDB sports department since fall of ’04 and serves as the station’s primary play by play announcer for football and men’s basketball games.  Outside of KSDB, James provides play by play for Junction City High School’s flagship station, 1420 KJCK.  The “Voice of the Generals”, James serves as the play by play announcer for a semi professional baseball team, the Junction City Generals.  James is majoring in Mass Communications with a minor in Leadership Studies and will graduate from Kansas State this May.

Assistant Sports Director Heath Fanning has also been a member of the KSDB sports department since fall of ’04 and serves as the stations primary play by play announcer for baseball games as well as color commentary for football and men’s basketball.  Heath also provides color commentary for 1420 KJCK’s men’s and women’s basketball games.  This past summer, Heath was the team statistician for the Junction City Generals Baseball Organization.  Heath serves as a JMC ambassador at Kansas State and will also graduate in May with a major in Mass Communications.
