Christopher Renner
Community Bridge is the progressive alternative to the radio talk shows on Manhattan airwaves. Host Christopher Renner is a PhD candidate in the College of Education, a community activist, and chef. From 1982 - 1998 he lived in Italy as was an associate professor at the University of Naples - Federico II. His previous radio experience includes being a voice actor of Radiotelevisone Italia Channel 3 in the 80s and 90s under director Guido Piccolli.
Christopher attended the 2005 Media Reform Conference in St. Louis and was inspired to bring change to the local airwaves. He founded Citizens for Independent Media, a local media awareness group. The goal is to have a public access radio and TV channel completely produced by local people by the end of the decade.
Community Bridge has as its goal to increase awareness and understanding on current issues from a progressive point of view and to promote collaboration and engagement between the KSU community and the broader community of Manhattan through a community-radio program format that models civil public discourse on a broad variety of issues.
