What is Podcasting?
It's the newest and best way (and in our case, FREE way) to listen to radio. Simply put, you choose the radio show you want to subscribe to, and it's automatically updated on your computer every time there's a new show!
Podcasting is a form of RSS (Really Simple Syndication). RSS in general means you can subscribe to any kind of content, whether it's news stories, videos, or music. |
How do I podcast?
It varies, depending on what program (called an "aggregator") you use to "grab" the content you want. There are many out there, but we recommend using iTunes.
(for a good listing of other aggregator options, click here)
Directions for subscribing with iTunes
1 - Copy the URL (for example, feed://wildcat919.com/feeds/PoliticalPork.xml) of the 91.9 program you want. (you may either highlight, right click, and choose "copy", or highlight, and hit "ctrl" + "c") You will find these on this page below each show's name.
2 - Open iTunes
3 - Go to "Advanced" > "Subscribe to Podcast"
4 - Right-click and choose "paste", or hit "ctrl" + "v"
5 - You will automatically be taken to your Podcast Directory in iTunes
You will notice that episodes will start to download. You can halt the download process, or you can let it happen. Also, if you have an iPod, it will automatically transfer to your iPod, in the "Podcasts" section! |
